    Hi All,

    As a recent new-comer to the H23, I am very keen to tidy up the running rigging on my boat and more importantly, to get all (or most) controls back to the cockpit. For a number of reasons, safety, ease of control, and fast efficient control.

    At the recent Vaal Holiday 23 Masters, I had the opportunity to look at many other H23’s and see what they had done. Most are bog factory standard, ie all controls at the mast. Some have ‘some’ controls coming back to the cockpit, but I did not see a ‘cure all’.

    Has anyone else had a look at this and if so, can I ask that you share with us your layout?

    Some thoughts on what I’d like coming back to the cockpit, ie my wishlist based on the Main and Genoa halyard remaining on the ‘mast’..;

    • Spinnaker Halyard
    • Spin Pole Uphaul / Downhaul  (Topping Lift / Foreguy)
    • Main Cunningham
    • Main Outhaul
    • Genoa Cunningham (for hank on foresail)

    I have seen some boats with coachroof winches too, which is great for Halyards if they are to come back to the cockpit, but is this permitted within class rules? ( I will check File Attachment: )

    Any input greatly appreciated.

    Dave
